Rod La Rocque, also known as Roderick Roque De La Rour, was an American actor born on November 29, 1898, in Chicago, Illinois. He appeared in over 100 films in his acting career, which spanned from the silent film era to the sound era. La Rocque was known for his work in films such as The Ten Commandments (1923), The Divine Lady (1929), and The Ghost Walks (1934). He also appeared in a number of television shows in the 1950s.
La Rocque was romantically linked with several actresses, including Vilma Bánky and Constance Bennett. He was married twice, first to Hungarian actress Vilma Bánky in 1927 and later to Virginia La Roche in 1930, with whom he had two children.
La Rocque passed away on October 15, 1969, in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 70.
